I’ve been incognito lately because I started helping a local real estate group with their blogs. More on that later.
I do want to wish everyone a Happy Holiday. But, please realize I will always say “Happy Holidays” and not just “Merry Christmas.”
The reason is very simple. I was born to a Catholic mother and a Jewish father. Therefore, growing up, I celebrated both Christmas and Chanukah.
There have been some people, over the years, who have told me only Christianity and Christmas is right, and everything else is wrong.
That is a notion that I will ALWAYS disagree with. Telling me that shows that you are not willing to accept other people’s beliefs and cultures.
Ladies and gentlemen, it is almost 2016. There are people in this country that represent several beliefs and cultures. Quite frankly, some of those people may think you are the ones who are wrong.
My point is this: In this holiday season, please respect everyone. You may not agree with everything they say or do. But, it is their right to do so — just as it is yours.
If you still disagree with that, I offer Matthew 7 from The Bible. After all, if you judge others, you’ve just given them the right to judge you.
Have a joyous — and safe — holiday.
