Over the past two years, I have written for a newspaper, and a real estate company. While those have been great experiences, I always felt there was something missing.
For the newspaper, I was able to write stories on several different topics within the neighborhood of Greenwood, SC. The experience was great. But, knowing I had to cover news as-it-happened gave me a feeling of pressure.
With the real estate company, I have been able to relax, but the blogs have always been about one thing – real estate. While the topic has some interest to some people, it always revolved around – well – real estate.
That all changed last week.
I was hired as a freelance writer. Actually, to be more specific, I’m a ghostwriter. I’m told that I won’t get much credit for the articles I write. However, I’m OK with that.
Think about it. You have to start somewhere. While I may get credit sooner or later, I won’t push for it. I love being able to write about several different topics at a relaxed pace.
I was hired last Tuesday (Jan.3), and I have already written 10 pieces for them. I’ve also been complimented on my writing, already, which feels great!
Being able to do what I love, getting paid for it, and then getting complimented on top of all of that is all anyone can ask for.
It seems that 2017 is starting off on the right foot for me. I can’t wait to see what else happens.
