William Rogers III will give the Easter morning message at the 29th annual Hope for Hospice sunrise service 7 a.m. April 5 at Oakbrook Memorial Park.
Rogers is retired. However, he is the interim pastor at the Ware Shoals and Harmony United Methodist churches in Ware Shoals.
“The sermon title will be ‘In the Garden’,” Rogers said Monday. He said selected scripture will include John 19 and 20.
Rogers’ sermon will include the importance of gardens — both in scripture and in everyday life.
David Holmes, of First Presbyterian Church, will perform special music for the service.
“We are blessed to have such wonderful community support Easter morning,” said Nancy Corley, HospiceCare CEO. “This sunrise service is a beautiful tradition for many that attend.”
The rain location will be inside Oakbrook’s chapel. Seating and coffee will be provided. They invite the community to attend this “meaningful service.” For more information, contact Deloris Rapp at HospiceCare of the Piedmont at 864-227-9393.
